Ready To Walk On Water?

I love Peter's experience of walking on the roaring sea with Jesus. But the thing is, Peter's story is often misunderstood. Do you have a step you need to take?

Listen to this message I gave at a women's retreat to gain the fresh perspective you need to see Jesus in a new way! My FREE gift to you!

Simply Trust He’s Got This

I have a love fascination with the moon. So, imagine my surprise to see this picture come roaring across my news feed in September. Alex Nirth is an amazing photographer and gives credit right back to God. This shot made time stand still for me.

You can visit Alex’s Facebook page here to view more photographs.

A few days after viewing this photo, I was able to see the moon as it followed me during my very early morning run. I love seeing the light beans glow on the sidewalk and eventually reflect off of my own skin. Running in the moonlight makes me feel calm and safe.

I know God holds up the moon. If He can carry the moon on a daily basis, He can carry me too.

Yet, the second my first running shoe slides in the front door, I say farewell to the moon until our next scheduled meeting. I take a short breather, grab a 5 minute shower, throw on my carpool best and off I literally run out the door with the kids.

Typically our van drive to school is met by crazy drivers, too many red lights and possibly a really neat shaped cloud…or two.

But today, my boys immediately noticed the moon.

No…it was broad daylight…but there stood the moon.

As our little minivan drove through the town, the moon followed us as the boys simply could not get enough of its sight!

The moon is not expected to be visible during the day. Yet, at just the right time when the moon’s phase collides with our sky at just the right moment – we get to witness the unexpected.

We expect God to draw near to us when we need Him.

We expect God to lift us up over our circumstances.

We expect God to keep His promises.

In even the unexpected moments, we should expect and search continually for God’s presence. His comforting touch in the midst of our surprising moments of daylight can change the way we view the would around us. We might even get used to seeing His hands at work in our everyday life.

Maybe not.

But regardless of the circumstances around us, we can expect the unexpected presence of God at work in our everyday lives. It’s just up to us to believe in His promises and look for the moon in the daylight.

This morning as the sky turned from night to daylight, I claimed this passage as His whisper to me, from the moon and back:

I go before you Bethany and follow you. I place My hand of blessing on your head. You can never escape from My Spirit! You can never get away from My presence! If you ride the wings of the morning, if you dwell by the farthest oceans, even there My hand will guide you, and My strength will support you. (Psalms 139:5, 7, 9, 10 NLT)

If our Abba holds the moon in His hands, then my friend, He is holding you too. He’s got this and He’s got you.

I love it! Noticing the little things such as the birds singing their songs in the morning or the way the sky turns colors as the sunset is awesome! It definitely reminds me how awesome God is and how detailed he is with everything! It tells me he took the time with me to make me unique and beautiful like the sunset!

Love this: “If our Abba holds the moon in His hands, then my friend, He is holding you too. He’s got this and He’s got you.” Ahhh, I can relax! Thank you.

This post put a smile on my face…love when God uses other people to confirm what He’s put in your heart! I’m trusting Him with a HUGE situation and He just keeps reminding me that ‘He’s got this’ and He knows what I need! 🙂

lovely. I’m tucking this morsel into my heart tonight: “In even the unexpected moments, we should expect and search continually for God’s presence.” Thank you for this moment of savoring God’s serenity and trusting in him.

    Beautifully stated Liz! Thanks!

Loved this Bethany! I have rods and screws in my back, and additional nerve damage, that prevent me from running so I live precariously through your blogs about running. I can imagine that quiet time running and worshipping Jesus sets the tone for your day. What a blessing that must be!

Yep! It is! Actually taking a break from running to heal a bit! I can’t wait to start again!
