I love Peter's experience of walking on the roaring sea with Jesus. But the thing is, Peter's story is often misunderstood. Do you have a step you need to take?
Listen to this message I gave at a women's retreat to gain the fresh perspective you need to see Jesus in a new way! My FREE gift to you!
And the thankfulness continues!

N – North Carolina: A few months ago, I got an opportunity to meet-up with many of my Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study sisters at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina. I never had a sister growing-up…now I have so many that I truly believe we just somehow were separated at birth. We have a deep rooted passion to be with God and cheer one another on as we live out our dreams He has placed on our lives. I love these ladies!
O – Oil Changes: I know, I said I’m thankful for this time, not exactly thrilled when my husband reminds me this needs to be done, last week. Yet, the last time I found the coupon needed, I was taken to a great place with the most amazing coffeemaker. As I found which little cup I wanted to try, I pulled the lever anxiously thinking, “What is this thing going to do?” I was like a kid in a candy shop! The thing even pushed the empty k-cup to the back and threw it into its own little trash can. Plus, I had an hour just to myself to read, breathe and simply rest. It. Was. Awesome.
P – Pillow Pets: A few years ago, my husband’s aunt and uncle gave our kids 4 pillow pets…a dog, a panda, a bee and a ladybug. These guys (we have all boys, thus everything they own is also of the male species) have been through a lot of damaging situations. They have been puked on, peed on, left outside, shoved into the van, stuck in doors and even thrown out of a moving van. Yet, they are in like-new condition. I’ve been known to grab one or two of these guys to sleep with at night. Sometimes, you need friends to get you to sleep!
Q – Quiet: If you are a mom, you know how amazing quiet can be. Before kids, I hated the idea of being trapped in quiet places. I would constantly have noise blaring. And then I had kids. You just can’t control the noise until they go to sleep. Yet, I love their noise because it makes the quiet that much more enjoyable, appreciated and needed.
R – RaceTrac Walks: During the summer, I would get all three boys together and we would take the 2 mile walk to the neighborhood RaceTrac gas station. You just can’t beat their slush ides and I absolutely loved the conversations we shared together. Sometimes we would race the rain clouds, other times we would laugh at some of the cars driving by. But this was our time, together with hardly any complaints.
S – Steve: We will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this coming May! That seems so CRAZY to me! We have been through so much together and I can’t wait for another 10 amazing years.
T – Toastmasters: Never in my life did I dream that a small piece of advice from a stranger would grant me so many opportunities. The gentleman that assisted me with my hearing-aids talked me into joining my local Metro Palm Bay Toastmasters because he thought I would be a great public speaker. I simply enjoyed having 2 nights a month away from the kids and meeting new people. Just last week I won 2nd place in our district 84 Humorous Speaking Competition. I started my journey in May. I have so many new friends that believe in me in ways I’ve never been able to believe in myself. We support one another just like family. God just amazes me at His incredible timing and humor.
U – Under: Our middle child came home one day and told daddy, “I need that crayon.” Daddy asked, “What crayon?” Our child responded, “Daddy, under there!” He was pointing under the table. My husband was confused. “Under where?” he asked. “Ha ha! I made you say underwear!” Our middle child has struggled to develop his speech. This was one of the first ongoing conversations we shared and I’ll cherish underwear forever.
V – Vaccum: Back when my oldest was toddling around, I found an old play school vaccum. I brought it home and it’s been with us ever since. Each of the boys have “vaccumed” with me at one point or another. I love seeing Matthew’s face light-up with joy as he sees me grab my vaccum. He runs off to his room only to reappear moments later with his vaccum ready to go. Off we go, together. This together time I hear is short-lived…we vaccum at least once a day. Using our time wisely.
W – Water Slide: Our family hasn’t really taken a vacation together because of cost and crazy work schedules. This summer, last minute we ended-up grabbing a great deal on a rental home for 3 days across the street from a resort…in our price ranger (they needed someone to use the place in-between longer bookings…I told them we would be happy to help them out). The resort had a huge watermark complete with a water slide and a lazy river. I debated the slide, but my older boys were begging. I caved. It was a blast! Smooth. Fast and fun! Sometimes, you just need to put your pride aside, put on your bathing suit and slide…and pray to God nothing slips out on the way down!
X – Strike: The “X” symbol in bowling means someone got a strike. Our kids enrolled in the summer free bowling program and we visited our bowling alley at least once a week to bowl together. All of my boys – yes, even our youngest – saw this “X” at one point or another. My oldest always asked, “Hey mom…everyone has an X except you!” They had bumpers. I was told I was too old for this accessory. Finally, on our last trip I got my “X” and all three boys witnessed history being made. We celebrated moments later by taking our routine trip to the bathroom. Great times!
Y – Y’all: After being born and raised in Kentucky, we were taught to steer clear from using this term. I did well, until these past few months. Suddenly, I’ve met new friends that use this term so fluently, I feel like it is indeed safe to use again. So, all y’all Kentucky people, it’s ok! Be free! Let your true self come out and be free! You no longer need to hide!
Z – Z88.3: – Z88.3: The second my kids grab a seat in the van, they hear Christian music, thanks to our radio station. I can’t tell you the number of times our family has just been in the middle of an activity and suddenly break out into a song we have listened to on the radio. My kids know every word. Every positive, Christ-centered word. Thank you Z88.3 for being there for my family.
