I love Peter's experience of walking on the roaring sea with Jesus. But the thing is, Peter's story is often misunderstood. Do you have a step you need to take?
Listen to this message I gave at a women's retreat to gain the fresh perspective you need to see Jesus in a new way! My FREE gift to you!
June will be a shorter month than usual here on the blog. As many of you are aware, I am preparing to head out to Ukraine later on this month! Many of you have been praying and have selflessly contributed funds to make this trip possible! You are as much involved in this trip as I am! We are taking this adventure together.
Our mission trip dates are June 16-26. The countdown has officially begun!
From Left To Right: Delores, Steve, George, me (Bethany), Art, Lisa, and David
Art, Steve, and George will be leaving this Tuesday to begin ministering in Ukraine ahead of the rest of our team. They are well-known travelers to this area but they will be venturing into new territory before the rest of the team connect with them in Poltava.
For the past few years, Art and I have been ministering in Ukraine. At the end of our last mission trip last fall, we felt the Spirit saying that we needed to spend more time and to visit other locations to bring the “Good News”. Being retired we both felt that this was something that was really on our hearts. Art contacted George who had traveled with us previously and he felt the pull on his heart also. Initially, it was just us three however as time went by we felt the desire to minister, with a small team, to Calvary Chapel Poltava and thus the team has come together.
My heart is for evangelism and to see Him work mightily in the hearts of His people. What I am really excited about this trip is the new areas we will be ministering but mostly the fact that the team of David, Lisa, Delores, and Bethany will be ministering alongside the church in Poltava.
My biggest prayer is for protection for the entire team. We have already had several spiritual attacks and if we are not careful, discouragement can creep in.
My favorite verse. Psalm 16:8 “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me”
I’ve been taking trips to Ukraine since 2003. Each trip is unique. God has worked absolute miracles with teams, missionaries, orphans, seniors and missionaries as I’ve submitted to Him. He sure can do a much better job than I putting the trip and team together. Basically, I pray, pray, pray.
This trip is exciting because three of us will be spending 5 weeks on the ground in Ukraine. We have had to rely on Him for all the plans. When the team meets us in Kiev it will be an entirely new experience for three of them. I love watching God work in the lives of the team members as they experience ministry in a country far removed from the US.
Satan has been working hard to prevent the team from going. We’ve had hospital stays, automobile accidents, illnesses and family deaths. With all that the team has prayed and overcome all the obstacles by giving it all to God.
My favorite verse is Matt 28. Somewhere in there, it says “go”. I’m being obedient and going. I want to be available for Him to work through me.
Art & I served together hosting a Light to Ignite Mission’s conference to reach the least evangelize at Life Point in 2015. We struck up a friendship and I sensed the Lord leading me to join Art on a short-term mission trip to Nizhyn, Ukraine in 2016. Once again, I felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit to join the team this year for an extending time of 5 weeks.
Sharing Jesus with others is what I look forward to the most. My experience in 2016 was indeed memorable, to say the least. Jesus is real and others can have the same eternal hope that I have.
My prayer request is for God’s love to shine through us throughout the trip, and especially sharing Christ’s love in Ukraine and wherever we are together. In addition, I pray that others will come to know Him in a personal and saving way to advance His kingdom.
My favorite verse and life verse is Matt. 6: 33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Prayer Team Requests:
