Ready To Walk On Water?

I love Peter's experience of walking on the roaring sea with Jesus. But the thing is, Peter's story is often misunderstood. Do you have a step you need to take?

Listen to this message I gave at a women's retreat to gain the fresh perspective you need to see Jesus in a new way! My FREE gift to you!

Meet The 2018 Ukraine Missions Team Part 2

Just in case you missed my post last week, I want to catch you up!

June will be a shorter month than usual here on the blog. As many of you are aware, I am preparing to head out to Ukraine later on this month1 Many of you have been praying and have selflessly contributed funds to make this trip possible! You are as much involved in this trip as I am! We are taking this adventure together.

Stay Connected

I will be posting twice this month and posting updates on my Facebook and Instagram accounts (hopefully) from Ukraine. So make sure you are following both accounts to stay up to date!

Our mission trip dates are June 16-26. The countdown has officially begun!

The Part 2 Team!

(From left to right: David, Lisa, me (Bethany) and Delores)

We already have 3 members of our team not pictured above, on the ground in Ukraine. Those of us in the picture here are counting down the final days until departure. It has been SO exciting yet also a bit nerve-wracking all at the same time. Here is what our “Part 2” part of the team has to share about the trip (part 2 being that “part 1” is already on the ground…get it? Clever, I know…):

From me (Bethany):

As I was assisting at the church one day, a very enthusiastic gentleman literally bounced into the office and couldn’t quit telling me stories about his recent trip to Ukraine. He soon loaded his thumb drive of pictures and my eyes began filling up with tears. He shared about the many kids at the orphanages and of course how many in Ukraine view others with disabilities. Before he left the office that day, my heart was set on going to Ukraine. However, my husband wasn’t thrilled about his wife and mother of our three kids leaving the world for over 10 days. So I waited and prayed hard. I cried as I watched the next team leave for Ukraine feeling like I should be with them. A few weeks after Christmas this year my husband agreed to let me apply for a passport. God took things from there! A trip I never thought would be possible is now just days away and literally orchestrated by God! It’d just amazing!

Prayer – Funny, I already know God is going to move mountains over in Ukraine, but my heart here in this moment – just days before we leave is with my three boys I’m leaving behind. My oldest has literally attended almost every mission meeting with me. He has helped me practice my Russian (or attempt at it really), helped me shop for the trip, prayed for our team and has even read the trip manual! The others I believe to understand why mommy is leaving – but let’s keep it real here – mom is leaving the country! I’ve never been away from my boys this long and my momma’s heart is hurting for them. Could you keep them in your prayers?

My favorite passage of scripture for a long time has been Ephesians 3:17-20.  Bethany, I will make My home in your heart as you trust in Me. Your roots will grow down into My love and keep you strong. And Bethany, you have the power to understand, as all My people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep My love is. May you experience My love, though it is too great to understand fully. Then Bethany you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from Me. Now Bethany, give Me all glory because I AM able, through My mighty power at work within you, to accomplish infinitely more than you might ask or think. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭17-20‬ NLT)

From David:

This will be the second trip, my wife and I went in 2016 . Wanted to go in 2017 , but just didn’t happen . When I met Art for lunch , a couple months ago, I knew what he was going to ask. I did not hesitate.  GO  sign me up !

I can’t say one thing really stands out as why I’m wound up about trip !! From seeing the kids , to walking the street handing out tracts . It’s not a , “I got to do this to score points.”  It’s “I want to serve my Lord , to see what He has in store.” It is so exciting !!!

Prayer. Boldness for me , I’m not a go out in people person. Step out of my box and GO ! That hearts will be open to hear about Jesus

Psalms 42:5  Why , my soul , are you so down cast? Why so disturbed within me ? Put your hope in God , for I will yet praise him, my Savior and God.

From Lisa:

My favorite verse
“I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
Why I want to go to Ukraine. I want to reach out to souls and let them know the greatness of Jesus Christ!
I came to Christ at a young age. I did a backslide. One day I visited a church and a pastor asked if we all die today, will we go to heaven or hell? I felt convicted because I didn’t know because the lifestyle I was living was not for God at the time. Today l know where I’m going and that is heaven! Jesus forgave me and He loved me first. Praise The Lord l will be in paradise one day!

From Delores:

I was witnessing at the bus stop, Hammock Landing and I heard Art and Dan talking about the trip and simply stated “i would love to go on a mission trip,” and Art said, “Come on you can go with us!”  I took him up on his offer.
Witnessing to the people and seeing God bring hundreds into the Kingdom, using this His small band of baptisted Believers, and the fellowship of the team – that’s what motivates me the most right now.
My biggest concern is eating the food since I am a picky eater and I dont want to offend my host family.
My verses: Mat. 6:33. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added into you”.  Philippines 4:13. I can do through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.
This team His been attacked by the enemy individually but collectively we are strong.  I am excited to see how God is going to use us in Ukraine.  I know the enemy has been trying to break up this team but I declare the no weapon formed against us will prosper, and that we are more than conquers we are victorious in Christ Jesus.

Prayer Team:

  1. Please pray for Art, George, and Stee who are on the ground in Ukraine.
  2. Please pray for all of the Part 2 team members by name this week as we leave on the 16th.
  3. Please pray for our families beginning today until we return on the 26th.
